"The Fall 2009 Sidney Harman Writer-in-Residence at Baruch College features Joseph O’Connor, the author of six novels: Cowboys and Indians, Desperadoes, The Salesman, Inishowen, Star of the Sea, and Redemption Falls; four collections of non-fiction, and an award-winning stage play, Red Roses and Petrol.
Roslyn Bernstein, Director of the Sidney Harman Writer-in-Residence Program, introduces the event. James McCarthy, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, makes the welcoming remarks. Mary McGlynn, Professor of English specializing in British, Irish, and Anglophone postcolonial literatures of the twentieth century, introduces the speaker.
The event takes place on October 20, 2009, at the Newman Conference Center, Baruch College, co-sponsored by Poets & Writers."
