Donald Saari, Distinguished Professor of Mathematics and Economics at the University of California, Irvine, talks about critical thinking in the classroom and addresses the disconnect that arises when what is discussed in the classroom seems to have little connection with the real world. He reveals how even the smallest detail may illuminate larger concepts. Professor Saari is introduced by Associate Provost Dennis Slavin.
The event takes place on April 1, 2008, at the Newman Conference Center, Room 763.
