The topic of leadership in the 21st century is explored as the theme for Baruch's first annual alumni networking brunch, hosted by the Baruch College Graduate Student Assembly and the Office of Alumni Relations.
Matthew Sheirer '07, serves as the event's master of ceremonies. Opening remarks are made by Baruch College President Kathleen Waldron and by the Honorable New York State Assembly Member Sylvia Friedman (D-74th A.D.).
The keynote speaker is Justin A. Rockefeller, Co-founder and National Program Director of Generation Engage, a nonpartisan group whose mission is to engage young people in this country's critical issues, and to help them become successful, politically aware citizens.
Ken Grouf and Mithra Irani-Ramaley, co-executive directors of the community service organization City Year New York are honored for their committment to young people in New York City. CYNY is a program aimed at preparing young people to become civic leaders through 10 months of structured community service between high school and college, or between college and graduate school.
The event takes place May 6, 2006 at the William and Anita Newman Vertical Campus.
