The Conference was held by the Free Institutions Program of the Baruch College School of Public Affairs. David Birdsell, Dean, School of Public Affairs, makes the opening remarks. Part 1 of the first day of the Conference begins with the introduction by the moderator of panel discussions, Thomas J. Mein, Professor of the School of Public Affairs and a student of the constitution. He opens the discussion about the current financial crisis, the American constitutional system and redraft of the American constition, then he begins to talk about several review essays for constitutional reform and the American republic. Daniel Lazare, author of The Frozen Republic provides his views about the pros and cons of the constitition. Jeremy Rabkin, Professor of George Mason Law School speaks the second.
