Friends of the Newman Library and the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health (PCMH) present an annual Evening in the Oak Room to celebrate the affiliation of the PCMH with the Newman Library.
The event examines symptoms of terror observed by psychoanalyists and law enforcement personnel in the wake of the events of September 11th.
Charles Strozier, Historian, Psychoanalyst and Professor at John Jay College speaks; as does Vincent E. Henry, a former NYPD Sergeant, 9/11 rescue worker and Professor of Criminal Justice and Sociology at Pace University.
Russell Merrit, chair of the library advisory committee of the Postgradute Center for Mental Health introduces the event; and Annette Leavy, Editor of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy introduces the panelists.
The event marks the publication of a series of special issues of the journal Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.
