The Pergolis Urban Classroom is dedicated in recognition of Richard Pergolis' contributions as Co-chairman of the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute, Board of Advisors towards advancing the cause of sustainability with the Real Estate Industry of New York City.
Baruch College President Kathleen Waldron hosts the informal celebration recognizing Mr. Pergolis and his family's generosity and commitment to Baruch. Jack S. Nyman, Director of the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute speaks at the event. Mr. Pergolis makes the closing remarks.
The Pergolis Urban Classroom is Baruch's first green classroom, implementing natural lighting, recycled furniture, and chemical-free carpeting, among other features. It is also the College's "smartest" classroom in terms of technology. Baruch hopes that the classroom will be a prototype for classroom space in the soon-to-be-renovated Field Building (17 Lex).
The event takes place on February 26, 2009, at the Pergolis Urban Classroom.
