"The Baruch community welcomes the freshman class of 2014 at the Convocation ceremony.
The event is introduced by James McCarthy, Provost and vice President for Academic Affairs. The convocation features remarks by President Mitchel Wallerstein, Vice President Ben Corpus, incoming Student Government President Ben Guttmann, as well as a keynote address by Black and Hispanic Studies Professor Katrin Hansing based on this year’s freshman text, The Bitter Sea by Charles N. Li, and her own experience as well.
Ben Corpus, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and Dean of Students formally inducts the students into matriculated status.
Teresa Parker, Director of Baruch College Chorus, instructs the students to sing Baruch's Alma Mater.
The event takes place on August 25, 2010, at Mason Hall, 17 Lexington Avenue."
